On the inner side of the main gopuram to the east of the enntrance stands the shrine of Srinivasa Perumal at the first tier. Facing east tier this shrine outlooks Sri Bhuvarahamurti Sannidhi. It is interesting to note that just as at Tirumalai Tirupati the devotee first worships Sri Varahamurti, the Lord of the place, installed in the shrine located at the bank of Swami Pushkarini, before proceding to offer obeisance to Lord Srinivasa, it has been an age-old custom at Srimushnam and his blessed feet (Thiruvadi) installed down below in the first instance and then only proceed to the shrine of Sri Bhuvaraha Perumal for prayers
